Younex built the Rouby Marketing academy a complete end-to-end digital learning system — a native mobile app running on both iOS and Android from a single codebase, a web platform prepared for search engines, and a comprehensive admin dashboard that runs the courses, the students, the payments and the marketing. We turned digital marketing courses into a full digital product: it serves the lessons on video, tracks each student's progress, issues accredited certificates, accepts local Egyptian payments, protects the paid content from leaking, and reaches the student with targeted notifications at the right moment — all of it owned outright by the academy. The project brings the mobile apps (iOS and Android) and a search-optimised web learning platform together into one integrated digital product the academy owns completely.
Project overview
Arabic e-learning has become a mobile-first experience; today's student learns on the move and expects an app they open with one tap and carry on from where they stopped. Yet most course academies face two incomplete choices: a web platform that offers no real mobile experience, or a rented off-the-shelf app that fences in the content, the payments and the data, and takes a cut of every transaction. Rouby Marketing wanted to own its system outright — not rent it.
So Younex built the academy three integrated layers working as one: a native mobile app for the student, a custom backend serving both the app and the site from a single source of data, and an admin dashboard that runs everything with no developer needed. The philosophy governing the project was simple and strict: learning has to be easy to reach, paid content has to be protected, and every management decision has to rest on real data rather than guesswork.
The client and the sector
Rouby Marketing is a learning academy led by the marketer Ashraf El Rouby, specialising in digital marketing, media buying and paid advertising courses, aimed at the Egyptian and Arab market in an entirely practical style. Its audience is serious learners after a skill they can apply immediately, a certificate that supports their career, and the follow-up that helps them see it through to the end.
Arabic e-learning is one of the fastest growing sectors, but it is fiercely competitive and governed by a clear equation: the academy that offers the easier experience, the better protected content and the smarter follow-up with the student is the one that earns trust and keeps its customers. That is exactly where we aimed the whole effort of this project.
The challenge
The project required solving several intertwined challenges within one coherent system:
- One app running on iOS and Android at native quality, at a reasonable cost and development time, and quick to update through an automated release pipeline.
- Protecting the paid content (the lesson videos) from screenshots and screen recording on both platforms — which is the heart of the revenue model for any academy.
- Reliable local payments suited to the Egyptian market (Vodafone Cash, Fawry, Meeza, instalments) rather than relying on international cards alone.
- Smooth sign-in through Google and Apple to reduce the friction of enrolling.
- Targeted notifications that bring a struggling student back on track, with the ability to target by course or even by governorate.
- A dashboard that shows the academy who is progressing and who is about to drop out, and manages all the content without technical intervention.
- An architecture that carries growth, linking the app to the site from a single source of data that prevents duplication and conflict.
The solution Younex delivered
We built the app in Flutter from a single codebase producing both the iOS and Android versions at native quality, over a custom backend in PHP and MySQL serving the app and the site through REST interfaces from the same source, and wrapped all of it in an automated CI/CD pipeline that builds both versions and pushes them to the stores at the touch of a button. The result is a fast app, consistent in its Arabic right-to-left design, and open to continuous development.

The app experience, section by section
Home and the course list: the student opens the app on a welcoming screen presenting the courses in clear cards, with instant search and categories (digital marketing, advertising and so on) that make the right content easy to reach. Each course card highlights the price, a short description and a details button, in an elegant Arabic design running right to left.
The course page: a complete persuasion page showing what the student gets — the number of modules, the training hours, and the accredited certificate — followed by a "what you will learn" section in concrete points, then a prominent enrolment button. The aim is turning curiosity into a decision with the least possible friction.
Local payment: we designed a payment path built for the Egyptian market: a checkout screen showing the order summary and a discount code field, then every local payment method (Vodafone Cash, Meeza, Mastercard, Visa, Fawry and instalments) through an embedded payment gateway, with the reassurance of a fully secure transaction. That spread of payment methods is a decisive factor in raising the completion rate of enrolments in the Egyptian market.
The lesson player and progress tracking: after enrolling, the student enters a video lesson player organised into modules, with precise tracking of every lesson and a completion percentage that accumulates automatically — showing the student where they stand in the course, and feeding the academy's dashboard with progress data.
Accredited certificates: once the course requirements are met, a completion certificate is issued in the student's name with a unique verifiable serial number (such as RM-2026-000148), downloadable from inside the app — adding real value to their professional record and strengthening the academy's credibility.
Community and support: a community section lets students ask questions, interact and learn from one another, alongside technical support inside the app answering their queries — building a living learning experience rather than isolated content.
Notifications and the updates tab: a dedicated updates tab presenting the latest news and offers, with instant push alerts. Any update the student opens appears in full detail, and updates are categorised (courses / offers / marketing) to make filtering easy.
Geographic targeting and coupons: the app picks up the student's location (with their permission) to associate them with their governorate, which lets the academy present coupons and offers tailored to each region and send geographically targeted notifications.
Protecting the paid content: we enabled protection against screenshots and screen recording on both iOS and Android — the screen goes black on any capture attempt — to keep the paid course videos from leaking, which protects the revenue model directly.
Frictionless sign-in: we supported signing in through Google, Apple and email, with account activation by mobile number, to reduce the friction of first use.
The admin dashboard — a complete management system
We built the academy a comprehensive Arabic dashboard running every aspect of the platform with no developer needed, divided into specialised sections:
- Analytics and reports: a live figures board read straight from the database — revenue, the number of students and enrolments, the courses, and progress rates — with charts showing at which lesson students stop (the drop-off points) and the newest enrolments moment by moment.
- Spotting students at risk of dropping out: an intelligent tool that automatically detects every student whose enrolment is a week or more old and who has completed less than a quarter of the lessons, and presents them to the academy — and lets a motivating notification go out to all of them at once, to bring them back on track before the system loses them.
- Targeted push notifications: a full notification builder sending instant alerts through Firebase, with flexible targeting: all users, the subscribers of a particular course, or a specific governorate, with the notification categorised (a platform update shown in the app / a promotional notice) and a link and an image attached.
- Managing courses and lessons: adding and editing courses (price, description, SEO data), and building the syllabus lesson by lesson with each lesson's video attached and the modules ordered.
- Certificates: managing the accredited certificates issued and their verifiable serial numbers.
- Students and enrolments: complete management of student accounts, and a record of enrolments with their status, the amounts paid and the payment methods, with a detail page for every student.
- Site messages: a unified inbox for contact messages with an intelligent protection filter that blocks spam and scam messages automatically, and an instant alert on every new message.
- Email marketing: a tool for sending email campaigns to students directly from the dashboard.
- Reviews, blog, settings and pop-ups: managing the student testimonials on display, publishing blog articles, adjusting the site settings, and running the promotional pop-ups — all from one place.
The platform and the site (SEO)
Alongside the app, we built a web platform fully prepared for Arabic search engines to serve as a channel for acquiring new students: course pages with optimised content, a system of long-form educational guides built on real keyword research, a library of free tools that draws substantial traffic, and structured data that lifts visibility. The site and the app run from one database, so any course or piece of content is managed once and appears in both.
Technical architecture and reliability
We chose Flutter for a single high-performance app across both platforms, a PHP and MySQL backend over REST interfaces, Firebase Cloud Messaging for notifications, and an automated CI/CD pipeline that builds, signs and ships both versions. We gave reliability particular attention — including hardening the database connection to carry peak times — because any momentary stumble in a paid educational product means a student lost. And we made sure everything belongs to the academy: the code, the data and the infrastructure, with no dependence on a rented platform that takes a cut or limits growth.

The impact
Rouby Marketing came out with a learning system it owns outright: a professional mobile learning experience that raises course completion rates, protected content that safeguards the revenue model, local payments that widen the subscriber base, a data board that lets the academy act intelligently to keep its students before they drift away, and an optimised site that keeps drawing new students in. In short: Younex turned the academy's courses into a complete digital product that grows with its owners.
