HyperHub HyperHub · grocery deals every day

The deals magazine that used to be handed out on paper now lives on the phone, turning page by page and downloading in one tap

HyperHub is a supermarket in Egypt whose line is HYPER DEALS · EVERY DAY, so people come for the offer. Those offers go out as a magazine of product pages and prices, alongside short videos on social.

We built a light site in PHP and MySQL around exactly those two things: the home page shows the offers running right now, every offer gets a dated magazine page whose spreads turn on a phone and download in full with one tap, and a reels section holds the videos.

What we did

  • Interface design in the HyperHub identity
  • Built in PHP and MySQL
  • A magazine page per offer, with its dates
  • One-tap download of the whole magazine
  • A reels section for the videos
  • A PWA web app and a dashboard

The site installs to the phone's home screen as an app (PWA) without going near an app store, and carries a WhatsApp button along with the Facebook and Instagram links.

Offers, magazines and reels are uploaded from the dashboard, so the team publishes a new offer without going back to a developer.

Younex Solutions built for HYPER HUB a complete online store for groceries and everyday products, designed to serve the pattern of repeat ordering and speed of purchase decision. The project brought together a large product catalogue, a fast search and filtering engine, a daily offers system that prompts buying, multiple payment gateways, and a progressive web app (PWA) experience installable on mobile. The solution relied on a PHP structure and a MySQL database able to handle thousands of products and concurrent orders, with a light and fast Arabic RTL interface suited to a grocery audience that looks for convenience and speed before anything else.

Project overview

An online grocery store differs fundamentally from any other retail store; it does not sell a product bought once every few months but serves a repeated daily need where the customer requires speed in finding the product, ease in reordering, and clarity in the prices and offers. From this understanding Younex Solutions set out to build the HYPER HUB store, which presents itself under the slogan "HYPER DEALS · EVERY DAY" — huge offers every day. We designed the store to be a daily shopping platform working around the clock, bringing together a broad catalogue of grocery and consumer products and a renewing offers system creating a constant sense of opportunity and value.

We took care in the design that the purchase journey should be as short as possible: from reaching the product, to adding it to the cart, to completing the order. The customer in a grocery store has no patience for moving through many pages but wants to complete their order in the fewest clicks. So we built a fast search and filtering engine allowing any product to be reached within seconds, designed a flexible shopping cart that remembers the customer's selections, and a smooth payment system accepting multiple methods. We also integrated a progressive web app experience allowing the customer to install the store on their phone's home screen and return to it with one tap, which strengthens loyalty and raises the repeat purchase rate — the most important goal in grocery commerce.

And from the economic angle, anyone working in grocery commerce knows that profitability does not come from the first purchase but from its repetition dozens of times over the course of a year. A customer who gets used to ordering from one store becomes a stable and growing source of income, while the cost of acquiring a new customer stays high. So we directed the whole store's engineering towards serving the repeat purchase cycle: from ease of reordering, to saving favourites, to an offers system giving the customer a new reason to come back every day. We designed the store to be a daily habit in the customer's life, not a passing destination. And we took into account that the grocery audience in the Arab and Gulf markets has come to expect a digital experience at the level of the major global platforms in terms of speed, clarity and ease of payment, so we built the store to meet this ceiling of expectations with a practical and sustainable budget and technical structure.

The client and the sector

HYPER HUB is a brand in the grocery and everyday products sector, targeting the consumer looking for the best prices and offers on their repeated household needs. The store offers a digital shopping experience bringing together the breadth of the catalogue and the strength of the offers, with an active presence on social media platforms and a direct contact channel over WhatsApp for customer service and completing orders.

Online grocery is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the Arab and Gulf markets, driven by changing consumption habits and rising reliance on mobile shopping. However, it is one of the most challenging sectors technically; it requires managing a huge catalogue of hundreds or thousands of products, with continuous updating of the prices, stock and offers, and high performance under the pressure of a large number of visitors and concurrent orders. The profit margin in groceries is also thin, which makes the efficiency of the user experience and reducing the drop-off points in the purchase path decisive for profitability. Younex Solutions recognised that the store's success is not measured by its beauty alone but by its ability to turn a visitor into a repeat buyer, and to handle a large volume of data quickly and steadily. Accordingly, every part of the project was designed with a logic serving performance and scalability as much as it serves appearance.

To that is added that the digital grocery sector is highly sensitive about data accuracy; a wrong price or an unavailable product shown as available destroys the customer's trust immediately and may lose them for good. So a management system was needed that links the catalogue to the stock and prices tightly, and lets the store team update the data instantly. And the daily offers — which represent the heart of HYPER HUB's identity — require a precise mechanism of scheduling, activation and deactivation, so that every offer appears at its set time and disappears when it ends without laborious manual intervention. These operational requirements made the project closer to building a complete retail management system than merely a store front, and Younex Solutions handled it with an engineering experience that puts operational reliability at the front of its priorities, recognising that a grocery store lives or dies by the measure of trust it builds in every purchase.

The challenge

The core challenge lay in building a store able to handle a huge catalogue and a repeated flow of orders, while maintaining high loading speed and a purchase experience that tolerates no friction. Every second of delay in loading a page, and every extra step in the payment path, means lost customers and abandoned orders. The challenges crystallised into the following points:

  • Managing a large-volume product catalogue with multiple classifications and categories, so that browsing stays easy and organised despite the breadth of the stock.
  • Building a fast and accurate search and filtering engine letting the customer reach any product immediately by name, category or offer.
  • Designing a renewing daily offers system creating a sense of urgency and value without confusing the customer or slowing the site.
  • Integrating multiple payment gateways suited to the audience's preferences, with a secure and smooth payment experience reducing cart abandonment.
  • Guaranteeing steady and fast performance under the pressure of concurrent orders, through an optimised database and intelligent caching.
  • Providing an outstanding mobile experience through an installable progressive web app encouraging repeat visits and purchases.
  • Simplifying the purchase path as far as possible to reduce the drop-off points in the customer's journey from the product to confirming the order.
  • Building an admin dashboard making it easy for the store team to add products, update prices and manage the offers and orders.

The solution Younex delivered

Younex Solutions designed the store as a complete e-commerce system built on PHP and a MySQL database, with an engineering focus on performance and scalability from the first moment. We built an optimised database structure able to accommodate a huge catalogue with precise indexing guaranteeing query speed even as the number of products and orders grows. And we developed an instant search and filtering engine working at the level of the name, category, price and offer, so the customer reaches what they want without trouble. And we connected all of that to a lightweight Arabic RTL interface designed for fast loading on mobile. The solution covered:

  • An organised product catalogue with clear classifications and categories, with product pages presenting the image, price, description and offer attractively and directly.
  • A fast search and filtering engine supporting search by name and category and sorting by price and offers, to shorten the journey to the product.
  • A dynamic daily offers system bringing out the standout deals and creating a psychological drive for an immediate purchase.
  • A flexible shopping cart and a simplified checkout page supporting multiple payment gateways with complete protection of the transaction data.
  • An installable progressive web app (PWA) on mobile, giving an experience close to native apps and strengthening repeat visits.
  • Direct WhatsApp integration for customer service and following up orders and enquiries quickly.
  • A comprehensive admin dashboard for managing the products, prices, offers, orders and stock.
  • A performance-optimised structure covering caching, asset compression and image optimisation to guarantee consistent speed.

And because performance is the backbone of any successful grocery store, we built an intelligent caching layer reducing the pressure on the database at peak times, loaded the images in a deferred manner (lazy loading) so they are only loaded when the customer reaches them, and compressed the style and script files to the smallest possible size. These improvements together guarantee the store stays fast however much its catalogue swells or its concurrent visitors increase. We also separated the business logic from the presentation layer, which makes the code cleaner and easier to maintain and develop, and allows new features to be added in the future without touching the store's core structure. This engineering discipline is what distinguishes a store built to last from a store built in haste that then stumbles under the first real pressure.

User experience and design

In a grocery store, the user experience is the difference between an order completed and a cart abandoned. So we built every design decision around the principle of reducing friction. We made the search engine present at the top of every page, organised the categories intuitively so they can be browsed by fast scrolling, and designed the product cards to present the most important information — the image, the price, the offer, the add button — all at once without needing to enter the product page. We brought out the daily offers in strong visual positions to create a sense of value and urgency. And at the payment level, we reduced the steps to a minimum and provided multiple payment methods to suit every customer. As for the mobile experience, it was the highest priority, since we designed the interface so the buttons stay within thumb's reach, the pages load quickly through asset compression, with the feature of installing the store on the home screen to turn a passing visitor into a permanent customer.

We also paid attention to fine details that make a large difference in the conversion rate: clear indicators of product availability, a transparent presentation of the discount value against the original price so the customer feels the scale of the value they are gaining, and gentle alerts as an offer nears its end prompting a decision. We made the shopping cart visible and available at every moment, and let the customer adjust quantities or remove products without leaving their current page. And at the payment stage, we applied the principle of "the fewest possible fields"; every unnecessary extra field is a potential drop-off point. And we allowed guest checkout without obliging account creation, because forcing the customer to register before buying is among the biggest causes of cart abandonment in grocery stores. All these decisions together serve one goal: that the distance between the customer's desire for the product and their completion of the order should be as short and smooth as possible.

Results and impact

The project produced a fast and scalable online store, handling a huge catalogue and a repeated flow of orders steadily. The fast search and filtering engine and the simplified purchase path contributed to reducing the drop-off points and raising the chances of orders being completed, while the daily offers system created a continuous drive to return and buy. The progressive web app strengthened the repeat visit rate through installing the store on customers' devices, which represents strategic value in grocery commerce built on loyalty and repetition. And the dashboard gave the HYPER HUB team complete independence in managing the products, prices and offers without relying on continuous technical support. With that Younex Solutions established its ability to build serious e-commerce solutions, designed for performance and growth, and able to compete in the fast-moving digital grocery market in the Arab and Gulf region.

And more important than the immediate results is that the structure we laid down opens broad horizons of growth for HYPER HUB. The store is built to expand horizontally by adding new product categories, and vertically by integrating advanced features such as loyalty programmes and reward points, custom coupons, live order tracking, and integration with stock management and delivery systems. And the data the store gathers about customer behaviour and purchase patterns represents a treasure that can be put to use in the future in targeted marketing and personal offers that raise the average order value. With that the store is not a closed, finished product but a living platform able to develop with the growth of the client's business and the widening of their ambitions, which embodies Younex Solutions' approach of building systems designed to grow with their owners rather than stopping at today's limits.
