Younex Solutions developed the Dental Arts Clinic app for Android for the Dental Arts dental and cosmetic dentistry clinic belonging to Dr Ehab Kamal in Nasr City, Cairo, putting booking and treatment follow-up directly in the patient's hands. The app allows an appointment to be booked in seconds, the medical file and treatment plan to be viewed, and reminders and notifications to be received, and it is connected to a single API that runs the clinic's website and its dashboard at the same time. The app was published on Google Play in Egypt in September 2026.
Project overview
Dental Arts Clinic is a medical mobile app specialising in booking dental appointments and following the course of treatment, designed to be a natural extension of the clinic's website that Younex had delivered earlier, rather than a separate product. Instead of the patient moving between phone calls, WhatsApp messages and printed papers, they find in the app a single point gathering everything they need: choosing the service, the dentist and the time, knowing the status of the booking, being reminded before the appointment, and referring back to the details of their treatment plan and what they have paid and what remains.
The app was released as Dental Arts Clinic in the medical category on the Google Play store, free and rated for all ages (3+), and listed under Younex Solutions as the developer. Its page can be seen on the Google Play store. The iOS version is in the coming plan, and its build pipeline has been prepared, but it has not yet been published on the App Store.
The app is a tool for booking and organisational follow-up, and offers no medical diagnosis; diagnosis and treatment decisions remain within the clinic and in the hands of the dentist, while the app handles organising the communication and making information clearly available to the patient.
The client and the sector
Dental Arts is a clinic specialising in cosmetic and therapeutic dentistry run by Dr Ehab Kamal in Nasr City, Cairo. The clinic offers a wide package of services including cosmetic dentistry and the Hollywood smile, dental implants and fixed prosthetics, metal and clear orthodontics, root canal treatment, fillings and extractions, whitening and scaling, along with children's dentistry.
This kind of clinic belongs to a sector resting heavily on trust and extended follow-up; many treatments such as implants, orthodontics and the Hollywood smile do not finish in a single visit but run across several stages and sessions, each with its own instructions and its own cost. So the clinic needs a digital channel that keeps regular contact with the patient, gives them a clear picture of where they stand in the course of treatment, and makes booking easy for them and for their family.
In the Egyptian market in particular, most patients rely on their mobile phone for everything in their day, and prefer quick solutions in Arabic, which made an Arabic Android app the logical choice for serving the clinic's audience.
The challenge
Before the app the clinic had a website presenting its services and taking bookings, but the needs of regular patients went further than a booking page. The main challenges were:
- Scattered booking and follow-up channels: the mix of phone, WhatsApp and walking in makes it hard for reception to organise appointments, and leaves the patient unsure of the status of their booking.
- Forgotten appointments: extended treatments require commitment to successive sessions, and the absence of organised reminders exposes the treatment plan to delay.
- No clear view of the treatment plan: the patient needs to know the stages of their treatment, the amounts paid and outstanding, and the aftercare instructions for each session, without having to ask every time.
- Booking for family members: a parent often books appointments for children or older relatives, and it was essential that this happen from one account without complication.
- Duplicated content across platforms: managing services, prices, dentists and cases in two different places, one for the site and one for the app, means double the effort and a constant chance of the data not matching.
- Google Play requirements for health apps: the store's policies impose precise obligations on medical apps regarding data disclosure, the privacy policy and account deletion, and any shortfall can delay publication.
The solution Younex delivered
Younex started from the principle that the app and the site should be two faces of one system. So a unified API was built serving both platforms together, and on top of it a native-performing Android app was developed focusing on three axes: fast booking, the personal medical file, and immediate contact with the clinic.
One API for every platform
A versioned REST interface was designed on PHP 8.3 and a MySQL database, the same one that runs the Dental Arts clinic website. Services, prices, dentists and before-and-after cases are managed from a single source, with control over whether each item appears on each platform separately, so a particular offer can be highlighted inside the app only.
An app that puts the clinic in the patient's pocket
The app was developed in Flutter, and lets the patient book through a five-step wizard, follow their appointments and change or cancel them, view their complete medical file, and browse the offers, articles and before-and-after cases, with quick access to emergencies, WhatsApp and the clinic's location on the map.
A clear booking cycle between patient and reception
Every new booking reaches the clinic with the status "awaiting confirmation", and the reception team reviews it and confirms or cancels it from the dashboard. At the moment that decision is taken the patient receives an instant notification on their phone, so they are never left uncertain about their appointment.
A dedicated Arabic dashboard
A complete app section was added to the clinic's Arabic dashboard, covering the management of app bookings, control over its content, sending bulk notifications to patients, and switching on maintenance mode when needed without issuing a new release.
This is the approach Younex takes in its mobile app development service: an integrated product connected to the client's existing systems, not an isolated app needing separate management.

- X-rays and before-and-after images for the patient's own case.
- Prescriptions and invoices in one place that is easy to refer back to.
Content and contact
- A presentation of the clinic's services and the list of dentists.
- A before-and-after case gallery with an interactive comparison slider dragged to reveal the difference.
- A section for current offers and another for informative articles.
- Requesting an emergency visit or calling the clinic directly from the app.
Reliability and operations
- A maintenance screen controlled by the server, switched on from the dashboard without updating the app.
- Retry handling when available appointments fail to load, instead of an empty screen appearing.
- Account deletion from inside the app, with an alternative web page for requesting deletion in line with Google Play requirements.
How the project ran
- Analysis and scoping: studying the patient's journey through the clinic, from the first enquiry to the end of the treatment plan, and defining what the patient needs and what the reception team needs.
- Unifying the back end: developing the API shared with the site, adding per-platform visibility control, and preparing the tables for bookings, the medical file and family members.
- Experience design: building the bottom navigation structure, the booking wizard and the medical file screens in Arabic first, with the clinic's visual identity in mind.
- App development: coding the screens in Flutter, connecting them to the API, and enabling Google account sign-in and the English translation.
- Notifications and scheduled tasks: connecting Firebase Cloud Messaging, creating the custom tone channel, and setting up the reminder and retry job.
- Extending the dashboard: adding the app section for managing bookings, content, bulk notifications and maintenance mode.
- Testing and improving reliability: trying the booking, confirmation and cancellation scenarios, handling the cases where appointments fail to load, and tuning the display on modern Android devices.
- Compliance and release: preparing the health apps declaration, the data safety form, the privacy policy and the account deletion page, then publishing the app on Google Play in Egypt during September 2026.
User experience and design
The experience was designed around a simple idea: that the patient should reach what they want in as few steps as possible. So the home screen presents at its top a "your next appointment" card with its status, such as "awaiting confirmation", so the patient knows where their booking stands the moment they open the app.
Beneath the card comes a moving strip of promotional offers, then a set of quick actions covering "book now", "emergency", "WhatsApp" and "location", phrases close to the patient's everyday language. The main navigation rests on a bottom bar of five sections: home, my appointments, book, my file, and more, so the booking button stays in the middle and always within reach of the thumb.
The booking wizard rests on breaking the decision into small successive steps, beginning by identifying who the appointment is for, because that point in particular was one of the things that most confused users in traditional booking forms. Each step presents only the available options, so the patient never sees unavailable times or inactive services.
Visually, the app holds to the clinic's identity colours and the Tajawal typeface, which gives Arabic text clarity and softness on phone screens, with a design running edge to edge that respects the safe areas around the camera and the system buttons. The interactive comparison slider in the before-and-after gallery gives the clinic's results a tangible character, as the user drags the divider with their finger to see the change for themselves.
The experience drew on Younex's expertise in designing dental clinic websites, where the best practices for presenting services and cases were carried from the web into the mobile environment and adapted to the nature of quick use.
Results and impact
After the app launched, the clinic and its patients gained practical tools that had not been available in this form before:
For the patient
- Booking became possible at any time from the phone, seeing the slots actually available and choosing the right dentist.
- A parent can now manage the appointments of their whole family from one account.
- The patient now knows the status of their booking the moment it is confirmed or cancelled, and receives a reminder in good time before the appointment.
- They can now follow their treatment plan and its stages, their financial account and the aftercare instructions without calling the clinic.
- Reaching emergencies, getting in touch over WhatsApp or finding the clinic's location is now one tap away.
For the clinic
- Bookings coming from the app are unified in one dashboard the reception team manages with a clear confirm or cancel.
- Updating services, prices, dentists and cases now happens once and appears on the site and the app together.
- The clinic gained a direct channel for reaching its patients through bulk notifications.
- The app can now be paused for maintenance and brought back from the dashboard without waiting for a store update.
- The app was released compliant with Google Play's policies for health apps, which preserves patients' trust in how their data is handled.
With that the clinic's digital presence is complete across the site and the app, something that can be delivered for any practice through the clinic website design service connected to a mobile app. And if you are thinking about a similar app for your own clinic, we would be glad to talk it through with you.
